Where It All Began
The story of Alicia Adams Alpaca begins far from New York, outside Munich, Germany where Alicia and her husband Daniel were raising a young family and dreaming of a new adventure.
Their journey took an unexpected turn when Daniel, exploring the Australian countryside, spotted a herd of alpacas. Drawn to the animals’ gentleness, sustainable nature, and extraordinary fiber, the couple moved their family to Millbrook, in New York’s Hudson Valley.
There, on an eighteenth-century farmstead, they began with fifteen alpacas and a vision: to live with intention and create something enduring.
Today, the brand is celebrated for its signature softness — a discovery Alicia made when she learned to separate the alpacas’ coarse outer guard hairs to reveal the silken fiber beneath. That revelation transformed traditional alpaca into something remarkable: warm as wool, soft as cashmere, and sustainable for generations to come.

“We wanted an adventure that let us live beautifully and with purpose. What began as a herd of alpacas became a way of life — one that celebrates family, craftsmanship, and the simple luxury of nature itself.”

Life on the Farm
Our story began on an eighty-acre farm in New York’s Hudson Valley, where a growing herd of Suri alpacas once roamed freely across rolling pastures. The land was alive with the rhythm of seasons, the soft hum of alpacas at dusk, and the quiet joy of a family building something meaningful together.
The herd became part of the Adams family’s daily life, raised with care, curiosity, and respect. Alicia often spoke to them in German, and they would hum in reply, a gentle sound of contentment that seemed to echo the harmony of their surroundings.
Those years on the farm shaped everything the brand stands for today: an enduring connection to nature, a reverence for slow living, and a belief that true luxury begins with kindness to the animals, to the artisans, and to the earth itself.

Crafted with Care, Across Continents
What begins in the Hudson Valley continues in the Andean Highlands of Peru, where generations of artisans transform our alpaca fiber into exquisite textiles.
These relationships are built on mutual respect, fair partnership, and a shared devotion to slow fashion. Every weave, dye, and stitch reflects centuries of heritage and a future of sustainable craftsmanship.

Nature’s Luxury: Alpaca Wool
Alpaca fiber is among the most exceptional in the world — naturally hypoallergenic, water-resistant, and free of lanolin. Softer than cashmere and warmer than sheep’s wool, it offers the rare combination of lightness, warmth, and durability.
Our commitment to sustainability begins with the alpaca itself: an animal with padded feet that treads gently on the earth and grazes without uprooting its pasture. One herd can produce enough fleece for generations of wear — a gift from nature that asks for nothing more than care in return.
